Assistant Construction Manager
“When I joined BW’s Graduate Scheme, I had the opportunity to work within various different departments. The HR team really listened to what departments I wanted to experience, gave me recommendations and were incredibly flexible with how long I spent working in them, putting no limit on how long the rotation would last. This was a massive benefit of the graduate scheme as although I had a rough idea on what career path I wanted to take, I was curious how the business operated as a whole and wanted to remain open minded. This allowed me to learn as much as I could about each department in BW before making the final decision on choosing my career path.
Additionally, I have been sent a personal development leadership course. It was a great opportunity to rub shoulders with employees from all departments and levels of seniority. The course has provided me with a great set of skills in how to manage and lead a team which will most certainty benefit me in my career. My line manager and my director both have the best understanding of who I am, my capabilities, my strengths and also my weaknesses. They use these not to limit me but to push me and ensure I am constantly developing.”
