BW are working hard to bring a pipeline of talent into the industry through our apprenticeship and graduate schemes. We believe that to make the strong managers of tomorrow, we need to ensure we provide an environment which builds both confidence and knowledge in the right way for each individual who chooses to join us. In this way, we encourage our teams to be true to themselves and ensure everyone works in a respectful and supportive environment. BW recognises that every individual is unique and so is their learning styles and career path. Learning is at the forefront of building the confident project managers of tomorrow.
Our apprenticeship and graduate specialisms available are:
Construction
Working closely with the Construction Manager/Project Manager, you will provide much needed support to the site team whilst developing your own skills and experience. Apprentices will be expected to attend a relevant course one day a week to gain qualifications within the field. Graduates (either directly or following the successful completion of an apprenticeship) will be supported in applying for professional qualifications through the CIOB to ensure they are in a good place to continue to develop their career.
Commercial
Working proactively with the Commercial Manager you will provide much needed support in the administration of commercial matters on the project. You will develop a high level of understand of commercial management best practise particularly with regard to contract / procurement routes, access to a highly capable supply chain, negotiation skills, change and relationship management. Apprentices will be expected to attend a relevant course one day a week to gain qualifications within the field. Graduates (either directly or following the successful completion of an apprenticeship) will be supported in applying for professional qualifications through the RICS to ensure they are in a good place to continue to develop their career.
Building Services
Assisting the building services manager in delivering the mechanical, electrical, air conditioning, heating and lighting on the project. Working closely with the BSM to ensure client specifications are met and delivered on time. Apprentices will be expected to attend a relevant course one day a week to gain qualifications within the field. Graduates (either directly or following the successful completion of an apprenticeship) will be supported in applying for professional qualifications through the CIBSE to ensure they are in a good place to continue to develop their career.
In addition to your chosen specialism, it is our aim during these programmes to provide you with a thorough understanding of both the industry and BW. You will undergo professional training, legislative training and mentoring to give you the opportunity to grow and develop in your role.
You will be encouraged to take ownership early on with a planned development for your role to encourage both on the job skills as well as technical expertise. We encourage creativity and outside of the box thinking from everyone in order to make BW an evolving place to work.
