Skyscanner: Back to where it began – with an updated brief
The Project
Edinburgh is where Skyscanner began. Two major projects later, they turned their focus to their roots. Not to repeat the past, but to keep evolving what a workplace could be for the team they’ve become.
Delivered across two live phases, the brief was ambitious: take everything that worked in London and Glasgow, but make it feel right for here. For now. For what’s next.
The result is their biggest space to date – grounded, grown-up and quietly confident

How the space works for the team
Two floors, clearly zoned – The layout follows how people actually move and work – with calm, practical transitions between focus, meeting and shared areas.
Materials that feel right here – Softer tones, natural finishes with bold brand interjections. Balanced and bright with elements that reflect the city and the people.
Breakouts that support the day – Designed to be useful, not just visible – for quick chats, quiet moments or a reset between meetings.
Noise kept in check – Acoustics handled early, through smart planning and spatial design.
Delivery that held its standard
Skyscanner’s Edinburgh hub was delivered while Glasgow was still on site. That meant overlapping Design and Build programmes, evolving needs and pressure to maintain quality across regions.
BW kept one core team on the project – managing both phases in a live environment, supporting complex lease negotiations and adapting to shifting priorities without missing pace.
The first phase was delivered on time and without defects. Phase two is now underway – held to the same standard, by the same team.
Why it worked
One team, start to finish – The same people stayed on from early design to final delivery, keeping decisions tight and quality high.
A clear brief, evolved well – Lessons from London and Glasgow shaped the response, but never dictated it.
Overlap, managed – While Glasgow wrapped, Edinburgh scaled – without friction or delay.
